USTA Diversity Camp

by | Nov 19, 2016

It was a very positive experience directing the USTA Diversity Camp at Three Oaks Park in Fort Meyers. Celsius Tennis Academy had 10 players attending and the rest of the 35 players where from various programs along Florida’s Gulf Coast from Sarasota to Naples.

Additional coaches included Rene Muzquiz and Kathy Rosenberg from Celsius and Mike Wilson from Laurel Oak and 5 more coaches from the Ft. Meyers area.

The camp was the brainchild of Andy Gladstone from USTA Florida and designed to give players and coaches the opportunity to interact in a positive stress free environment outside of the normal routine.

We did various drills and points in the morning and singles and doubles sets in the afternoon in a college based format. It would be great to see more events like this in the future where even more coaches and players can work together. It was a great opportunity for both the coaches and players. Thanks Andy.
